Dr. Johnston is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a Nationally Certified Counselor, and a Board Certified Coach who has spent her professional career as a private practice psychotherapist who focuses on helping individuals and families gain the communication and conflict resolution skills that they need to achieve personal, parenting and professional success with less conflict, and greater joy.  Dr. Johnston is also Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator, Collaborative Divorce Neutral Facilitator and Qualified Parenting Coordinator who has over 20 years experience working with families in transition through the negotiation and conflict resolution process. 

     Dr. Johnston received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of  Maine, a Master of Arts in Psychology from Texas A&M at Corpus Christi, and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.​ Dr. Johnston was formerly adjunct faculty at Florida State College Jacksonville where she taught courses in General Psychology, and Human Relations in Business and Industry.    Dr. Johnston also has extensive experience working with private, and not-for-profit organizations in a variety of settings and roles, ranging from individual coaching to organizational training exercises. Her community service work includes serving on the Board of Directors for several local non-profit organizations.

Almany has worked with children and families for 10 years. She graduated from the University of North Florida with her Bachelor's in Psychology 4 years ago.  After earning her degree, Almany worked in prevention and early intervention with children between the ages of 0-5 years old. During this time she educated and supported families through establishing a positive parent-child bond to increase positive social and emotional development for their children.  She also provides Early Intervention Services as an Infant and Toddler Developmental Specialist through the Early Steps Program. Almany is currently working on her master's in clinical mental health counseling with the goal to become a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida. 

Meredith has worked with the special needs community for over 12 years.  She graduated from Winthrop University with her Bachelor’s in Communication Disorders in 2008, which led to her obtaining her Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders from Valdosta State University in 2011.  After working as a Speech Pathologist in the public school systems, Meredith assisted in managing a private ABA center in Denver, Colorado. Upon moving to Florida in 2018, Meredith taught Montessori preschool for ages 2 to 5, and now provides home-based intervention services as an Infant and Toddler Developmental Specialist for the Early Steps Program.

Janelle Coulter

Ebony Washington has been an educator for over 10 years. Within those 10 years, she has worked with children from ages birth to high school age. Ebony earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Masters Degrees in Curriculum and Instruction. When she is not teaching in the Duval County School, she provides Early Intervention Services as an Infant and Toddler Developmental Specialist through the Early Steps Program.

Teresa has spent a decade supporting children and families across the United States. She has worked in inclusive early learning centers as well as residential facilities serving young children with unique needs. Originally from Minneapolis, Teresa holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota in Social Work. She has special interest in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and students with challenging behaviors. Her work has focused actively on helping families and classroom teachers implement positive behavioral supports,

enhance children’s social-emotional skills and ease classroom management. Teresa has recently re-located to the Jacksonville area and is eager to begin working as an Infant and Toddler Development Specialist with the state’s Early Steps program.

Okeya started mentoring in a community out reach program for at risk youth in high school. She graduated from Fayetteville State University with a bachelors in Psychology. Her career began in the field of Applied Behavioral Analysis, working with children from the ages of 1-14 with Austim Spectrum Disorder for six years. Keya also provides Early Intervention Services as an Infant and Toddler Developmental Specialist through the Early Steps Program.
